American Airlines announces new Dallas to Auckland route
Last night (NZDT) American Airlines announced a new route to Auckland Airport with flights to Dallas Fort Worth International, among other service changes to New Zealand including flights to Christchurch with the 787-8.
Flights to Dallas will be flown by 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft, the same type currently used for Auckland to Los Angeles flights. This will be the second route from Auckland to Texas after Air New Zealand flights to Houston.
The route will operate three weekly from the 25th of October 2020 to the 1st of December, where it will increase to a daily schedule until flights cease as the season ends on the 25th of March.
American Airlines flew a charter flight with a 787-9 from Auckland to Dallas in March 2018, which sparked rumours for further operations into Auckland by American.
American also announced that they will expand the Los Angeles - Auckland route for the 2020/2021 summer season, with flights set to begin earlier on the 7th of October 2020.
